Programme breakdown
Three levels.
Twelve sessions each.
Participants start at Basic and progress at their own pace. Every trick can be done seated, and every level ends with something each person can do that they couldn't do twelve weeks earlier.

Objectives
What we hope participants walk away with.
-
A new skill, and pride in it
Personal achievement from learning something genuinely new, and a way to express themselves creatively.
-
Confidence
Confidence instilled through practice, then reinforced by performing the skill in front of others.
-
Cognitive engagement
Improved mental health and stronger cognitive skills through the problem-solving and memory that yoyo play demands.
-
Coordination & dexterity
Enhanced eye-hand coordination and finer motor control, session after session.
-
A stage to showcase on
The skillset to perform publicly — for many participants, their first time on a stage in decades.
-
Inter-generational bonding
A shared activity that works across ages, with young instructors and grandchildren often joining in.

Questions
Common questions from coordinators.
Can participants with limited mobility take part?
Yes. Every trick in the programme can be done seated, including from a wheelchair. We adapt string length and throw style for reduced grip strength or shoulder range, and nobody is asked to stand.
How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on group size, level and location, and isn't fixed. Get in touch and we'll put together a quote for your centre.
Do participants need to buy anything?
No — every Basic class participant gets a beginner yoyo free, theirs to keep. Only the Advanced class needs an upgraded yoyo, which participants purchase separately at that stage.
What happens if someone misses a session?
Tricks build on each other but each session stands on its own, so a participant who misses a week can rejoin the next. We don't run make-up sessions for individual absences. If the centre needs to reschedule a whole session, let us know at least a week ahead and we'll arrange a make-up date.
Can we start at Intermediate?
Participants complete the Basic class before moving up. It covers yoyo preparation and maintenance that everything later depends on, and it's where the group finds its footing together.
Is it safe?
We use lightweight beginner yoyos and start every session with spacing and safety reminders, with two instructors supervising throughout. Participants are asked to follow instructor guidelines; the organiser is not liable for injuries resulting from improper yoyo use.
Will photos be taken?
Photos and videos may be taken during class for promotional purposes. Any participant who prefers not to be photographed should let us know in advance and we'll make sure they aren't.
Can we run a shorter taster first?
Yes. Many centres start with a taster session so their seniors can try it before committing to a full twelve-session level. Just ask when you enquire.
